Seabased, in partnership with local company TC’s Energy, has deployed six wave energy converters and a switchgear to the south of the Ghanaian town of Ada Foah a week ago. The wave power array was hooked to the grid on May 8, the Swedish firm said in a statement.
In late March, Seabased announced it has deployed 36 of its wave energy convertors (WECs) as part of the first phase of the 10-MW Sotenaes demonstration project on the west coast of Sweden. The company is also supplying generators for Irish firm Simply Blue Energy’s 10-MW commercial-scale wave power project at the UK’s Wave Hub facility off the coast of Cornwall.
